People. Really. REEAAALLY….. Bill Gates is NOT going to send you money, the nigerian are NOT going to send you gazillions of dollars and you will not be coursed by the lonely virgin if you don’t forward the email to 7 people. You will also won’t be finding happiness if and only if you forward something to 12 of your closest friends.

So do as I do, click on REPORT SPAM as soon as you receive them. These people have to be taught a lesson.

What’s bugging me lately is that I made the horrible, yet interesting “mistake” of adding the google alert for EVERYTHING about Vitiligo. So far, I have read that:

“It is usually triggered by a fungus infection in the skin. It can be a side effect of heavy antibiotic use, chemotherapy, steroid use or even birth control pills.”

or that

“Michael Jackson has vitiligo the awful skin disease! it’s real,it’s disgusting and it’s no joke! It’s a whitening skin disease where the skin becomes pitchy patchy and the white part is a ghost like putrid colour.”

Among many, many complainy posts.

I have Vitiligo, I have tried creams, oils, more creams, exercises, stay out on the sun doing nothing, even some weird placenta stuff that was sent over from Cuba. I have written to the people who make the XTRAC laser (no answer yet, still waiting) which seems the answer to my Vitiligo “problem”

However…. I seldom complain about my Vitiligo. Why? Why should I complain? It’s here… it’s part of me, if I get stressed out I get more spots, if I don’t, they stay there, why should I complain? I am unique. No one has the exact same spots I have. My current “Friend with Benefits” says I wouldn’t look bad being all white either, and he likes my spots. My friends barely notice them, unless I bring attention to them. Someone a few years ago thought the white spots on my eyelids were just “Some clever eyeshadow” and the lead singer for Circulos de Nada once told me that they seem like windows to my soul.

Why can’t people see the beauty of it? OF COURSE we’ll get the irrational comments, like that completely ignorant girl in college who asked me if I had the Pinta disease. I just proudly said “Nope…Vitiligo” and never was that subject made known of again.

I am ok with having Vitiligo. I don’t care much about it usually, now and then I DO get nervious and worry about how it could affect me. But today is not the day. I am proud of who I am. I am happy to have such a unique thing on my body.

Please… ignore the masses of obsessive religious people who try to block your way to fun and enlightenment! They hold on to their own personal version of the Truth and don’t accept others. They have been damaged or educated in a way that they need to hold on to their Truth and can’t see how other Truths would help. They don’t understand that maybe, just maybe, all Truths are one. Their choice of Deity could just be a different aspect of a fun, all knowing, all loving God.

What’s the cost of each ride? Not much, or probably the highest cost ever, depends on how you see it. Your beliefs. If you leave your beliefs at the entrance of our Religion park, you’ll get every ride for free. You just have to stop thinking you own the only Truth. Come on, forget your beliefs… He (or she) in any of the forms that have been taken over history, didn’t come to Earth to scare us. He(She) came to help us out.

We have a fun God to celebrate! As someone once said “Take sex for example. There’s nothing funnier then the faces people make mid-coitus.” If God had wanted sex to be scary, dangerous and taboo, (S)He wouldn’t have made it so pleasurable. Thompson CLAIMS that all he wants is for companies to stop selling M rated games (which should only be sold to people over the age of 17), however, whenever he starts any kind of action against new games he wants the ban to cover EVERYONE. So THAT’s where his crusade goes wrong.

You see… I’m a gamer, not a big one, but I enjoy games. I am 30 years old, and I plan on playing any damn game I want.

Also, I would like you to read those series. They are outstandingly unbelievable. Someone like him shouldn’t be an attorney. My grandfather was an attorney and I am SURE if he saw what Thompson does in court he would probably put him in his place. A beautiful example could be:

Mr.Thompson, I would approve of your idea of not selling M rated games to minors. However, I don’t believe Target, Best Buy, Circuit CIty, or even Take Two or any other gaming companies, are to blame if these kids get their hands on them. I’ve bought mature stuff (movies, games) at these places. They always, ALWAYS card me for them, and I’m 30 years old. If Take Two sells their stuff online, you need to have a credit card, which, if I recall correctly you get only after 18 years old or with a parent or guardian’s permission. I had mine at age 17. But my father was always checking out what I was buying. Don’t ALL parents do that?

However, please don’t mess with adults. Adults should get whatever fucking game they want to get, no matter how gory, sexy or violent it is.

Oh, also… I have played video games since Atari came out, I had every damn console that came out thanks to wonderful parents. My 5 year old brother played Mortal Kombat and won over me every time way back then. We are both smart adults now, both with finished careers and good jobs. I have also finished a Master’s Degree three years ago and I am happy to report I live on my own and have a lot to do in my life. So why are us gamers supposed to “get a life”? Why are we “stupid” in your eyes?

Oh also… as of the moment of writing this blog entry, I work for a gaming company. Am I EEEEEVIIIIILLL????

Now, maybe I’m a nympho or maybe I’m jaded because of unknown reasons, but… does this look like an extreme scene of sex who you wouldn’t show anyone under 18, or 21, depending on where you live?

So they’ve been calling it “virtual orgasmic rape” and “They’re seeing them as these objects of desire, as these hot bodies. They don’t show women as being valued for anything other than their sexuality. And it’s a man in this game deciding how many women he wants to be with.” No. Really.

Now, to my second point. The “Virtual orgasmic rape” idea came from this “conservative” blogger called Kevin McCullough who, interestingly enough had never played or seen the game (personally, I haven’t either). However, what happened here was that gamers from all over the world went into his blog, where a lot of them discussed this intelligently with him, while a few others wouldn’t stop telling him stuff like “fuck you” or “stoopid noob”. I do NOT condone the second gamer demographic, however, after reading the comments, and hearing them call Mr. McCullough on his radio show with intelligent comments, I am happy to report that column was taken down.

Now for the funny part: “They’re seeing them as these objects of desire, as these hot bodies. They don’t show women as being valued for anything other than their sexuality. And it’s a man in this game deciding how many women he wants to be with.” This woman, Lawrence Cooper, who is supposedly an expert psychologist and bla bla bla, said that. Reading a bit about her, she writes for Cosmopolitan… COSMOPOLITAN and had NEVER played the game, probably had never played A game. Now to make you understand. Cosmopolitan is, to me personally, one of the worst publications. I see it at newsstands and I will probably stare morbidly at their blurbs but I would never, not even at a doctor’s office where there’s nothing else to do, read it. For me, this screams about just wanting to get everyone’s attention.

So gamers AGAIN got angry, with very much justified right. This time, the attack was different. Suddenly, the reader reviews of her new book over at amazon.com were terrible. Most interestingly, the people who reviewed it mentioned “I haven’t read it”. You see, gamers thought that, since she hadn’t even seen nor played Mass Effect and judged it, they could’ve not read her book and judge it. They did mention why they were reviewing it though, and the book went down under as a best seller.

So she kind of apologized “I recognize that I misspoke. I really regret saying that, and now that I’ve seen the game and seen the sex scenes it’s kind of a joke.” Probably because she found out that her book will probably not make her as much money as it would if she hadn’t said all those things.

Definitely… gamers are a force to be wary of.

As a last point, EA’s Vice President, Jeff Brown, wrote to Fox News saying, among other things “The resulting coverage was insulting to the men and women who spent years creating a game which is acclaimed by critics for its high creative standards. As video games continue to take audiences away from television, we expect to see more TV news stories warning parents about the corrupting influence of interactive entertainment. But this represents a new level of recklessness.”

I am glad that we are all standing up to ourselves.

No one and that includes the Beatles and Elvis can touch our (KISS’) merchandising and licensing. Nobody. Outside of the music world, it’s only Disney and Lucas. But in the music world, they can’t shine our shoes.
